GOALS
LISTEN
Listen to constituents. Do the necessary research, become informed,
and then make good decisions.
People in the County have good ideas and concerns that the County Commissioners should know and hear about. I will make it a priority to answer my phone and emails from those trying to reach out to me, to give me their opinions on different topics. I want to hear what others have to say.
GOOD JOBS
Maintain our rural life style while bringing in companies with good, high paying jobs.
It is important to me to have places available for our children to work in case they choose to live in the County. This includes working with the companies that are already established in the area, to help them want to continue business within our County limits. I will also work with those companies that have an interest in coming into our area to help create high paying jobs here as well.
WATER
Protect both our ground and surface water rights.
We always have counties or states trying to steal our ground and surface water. It is important to me to keep it here in Millard County for the use of our residents.
TAXES
Work with the companies within the county that already exist instead of scaring them away, while making sure they still pay their share of taxes.
My goal is to come up with a common sense budget that does not require a "record high property tax increase".
I would like to create a committee of nine members from the county that would negotiate with the Intermountain Power Agency to agree on the amount of taxes IPA would pay, this would include a schedule for upcoming years.
BUDGET
Make a realistic budget and stick with it.
Use cost/benefit analysis to come up with a five year plan that includes both long and short term goals. This would include accounting for depreciation of assets for industrial facilities. I would also look into what the County really needs, and what it can do without.
COMMUNITY
Understand and help the cities and towns with their needs.
I would like to gain a better relationship with the individual cities and towns that
and help them with their desires and goals.
