As a Commissioner, I have made it a priority to answer any needs or concerns that have come my way. I believe people in the County have good ideas and concerns that the County Commissioners should know and hear about.
. I want to hear what others have to say.
GOOD JOBS
Maintain our rural life style while bringing in companies with good, high paying jobs.
It is important to me to have places available for our children to work in case they choose to live in the County. This includes working with the companies that are already established in the area, to help them want to continue business within our County limits. I will also work with those companies that have an interest in coming into our area to help create high paying jobs while making sure they are not consuming too many of our recourses.
WATER
Protect both our ground and surface water rights.
We always have counties or states trying to steal our ground and surface water. It is important to me to keep it here in Millard County for the use of our residents. I am currently apart of two different committees working to protect our water rights and aquifer.
TAXES
Work with the companies within the county that already exist instead of scaring them away, while making sure they still pay their share of taxes.
As a commissioner, I have worked with both Graymont and IPA to come to an agreement that was good for both the County and the companies to pay their share of taxes. At the time, we were able to compromise these long disputed battles, while also saving the County approximately $250,000 in attorney fees each year.

This agreement made it possible for Graymont to expand their facility and create more jobs.
BUDGET
Make a realistic budget and stick with it.
In my time in Office, we have created a five year plan and acquired software to track our budget, and make it more transparent by being available to the public on our website.
Within our budget, we have provided our Sheriffs department with a $10,000 signing bonus, and increased their wages.
I personally met with the County's EMTs and learned what would be a fair compensation for their time carrying a pager, and for actual runs. With the other Commissioners and County Sheriff, we were able to establish the pay the EMTs were wanting and felt fair for the county. We also added the County will now pay for EMT training.

COMMUNITY
Understand and help the cities and towns with their needs.
I would like to gain a better relationship with the individual cities and towns
and help them with their desires and goals.
